Cleanse Me

Psalm 139:23-24  Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

[24] And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

In Psalm 139 God says He will judge the wicked and will hear the prayer of His people.

Praise God that He is all–knowing, all–powerful, and present everywhere.

Cleanse Me

Search me, O God, and know my heart today,    —    Try me, O Savior, know my thoughts, I pray;    —    See if there be some wicked way in me;    —    Cleanse me from every sin, and set me free.

I praise Thee, Lord, for cleansing me from sin;    —    Fulfill Thy word and make me pure within;    —    Fill me with fire, where once I burned with shame;    —    Grant my desire to magnify Thy name.

Lord, take my life, and make it wholly Thine;    —    Fill my poor heart with Thy great love divine;    —    Take all my will, my passion, self and pride;    —    I now surrender, Lord, in me abide.

O Holy Ghost, revival comes from Thee;    —    Send a revival, start the work in me;   —  Thy Word declares Thou wilt supply our need;   —   For blessings now, O Lord, I humbly plead.

God Knows All About You

Psalms 139:1,2  O Lord, thou hast searched me and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

God knows everything about you --- your personal and private moments and your intimate thoughts. He knows the motivation behind what you do and the impact upon yourself, others, and the cause of Christ. We may deceive others but not God.

You can't escape God's presence, even if you try. That is comforting and convicting.

You are the greatest evidence of God's creative power. In the womb, God formed and fashioned you (Psalm 139:13).

God calls you to live in His holy light. His holy light became flesh and hung on a cross--the "just" for the "unjust" --- to redeem the guilty world from sin. Jesus and asks you to come to him for salvation. Believe on Him and repent of your sins. He wants an intimate relationship with you.

A Tender Heart

Do we have a tender heart toward God? Do we listen when He speaks through His Word, His still small voice or preaching? If not, our hearts are calloused. Coulloused hearts are like scar tissue--insensitive to feeling . . . . insensitive to God.

Believers with tender hearts have compassion for lost souls, for the suffering, sick or depressed. Jesus had compassion for us.

It's easy to live happy because we are saved, but are we concerned that multitudes around us need a Savior?

Our salvation experience should stay fresh so our hearts don't become calloused. God wants us to show a lost world what he can do through Jesus.

People need The Lord.

Psalm 26:2 Examine me, O Lord and prove me: try my reins and my heart.

On A Hill Far Away

In many churches today the bloody message of the cross is not being preached. Instead of hearing that men are sinners and need to be saved, people hear, 'I'm OK and you're OK'.

On a hill far away God boldly declared His boundless, matchless love for lost sinners of this world, and it cost His only Son a brutal, bloody death on the cross.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Satan may roar like a ferocious lion, and he may try to keep you from God, but he was defeated by the power of God on the old rugged cross. You don't have to remain his prisoner. Jesus will set you free if you ask. Confess your sins and believe on Jesus.

And I'll cherish the old rugged cross, till my trophies at last I lay down.

Rubble And Peace

As believers facing the rubble that comes our way, we can know that the precious Holy Spirit is in us to guide us, to teach us, and to constantly remind us of the awesome love of God.

The Lord makes broken pieces bearable. He makes our destination believable. If we will but learn to rest in Him, He has the power to keep our hearts in perfect peace despite pot holes and mud puddles and flat tires and medical reports and fear of the unknown.

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee; because he trusteth in thee.

Maybe you are experiencing trials that have just about gotten the best of you. Why not bring them to Jesus.

The Pavilion Of Safety

Psalm 27:5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me: he shall set me up upon a rock.

God loves us so much that He tucks us away in His pavilion during trouble. It's a place of confidence and victory. Could there be a safer place in all the universe? Of course not.

This is what allowed David to face the giant Goliath. This is the confidence that kept Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego from burning in the fiery furnace. This is the assurance that gripped the heart of Daniel in the lion’s den. This is the knowledge that allowed Paul to continue even though suffering.

There’s no place to hide but Lord in Thee.

Jesus, The Word And Eternal Life

John 1:1-3,14  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. . . . . [14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The manner of Jesus’ incarnation is a mystery. How could God become a man? The answer lies in the mind of God alone. All we know is that God chose a virgin named Mary and caused her to miraculously conceive and bring forth a baby.

God walked upon the earth and was unrecognized by many who came into close contact with Him. His greatest glory was revealed the day He allowed Himself to be nailed to a cruel cross and die for sinners. After three days He arose from the grave.

Those who believe in Jesus have eternal life. There is only one entrance into eternal life and that is through the Son of God.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
